The hotel proved to be an excellent venue for our Graduation Reunion. A group of medics and spouses meeting to celebrate 50 years since they graduated. There is adequate parking and taxi fares from the city centre were not exorbitant for those travelling by train. The reception staff were friendly and helpful from booking in to booking out. The restaurant staff were lovely - smiling faces in a morning with first class service. The breakfast buffet was very good - cereals, fresh fruit salad, porridge, a full English cooked breakfast and an abundance of croissants and pastries. The only down side was that there was only one hot drinks machine and a queue often developed. We were treated to a celebration evening dinner and food chosen [by our leader!] was excellent. There was a very good alternative for those with dietary problems. The standard room that we occupied was little small and clothes hanging space was not good but there was tea and coffee making facilities within the room.The en-suite had a shower but no bath. Wifi was not free. The hotel is within university grounds and is very quiet. This hotel is a great place to stay in the city of Manchester.

“Overnight stay - got what we paid for”

Excellent location for city centre. Free parking and it is easy enough to walk into centre. Location is a bit deceiving but the building itself is lovely. The corridor and room layout reminded us of Alice in wonderland. The Bed was super comfy. Just a shame about the lack of pillows and how thin... Più

Excellent location for city centre. Free parking and it is easy enough to walk into centre. Location is a bit deceiving but the building itself is lovely. The corridor and room layout reminded us of Alice in wonderland. The Bed was super comfy. Just a shame about the lack of pillows and how thin they were. Also the duvet was very thin and not large enough to share. Afew scuff marks on curtains and on wall. General wear and tear to be expected in hotel room. However tape on the back of the remote, were the cover had came off, was a shame. Hairdryer didn’t work due to a fault that caused an electric shock. Breakfast was great value for money - couldn’t complain about this. Afew miner issues but for an overnight stay in such a great location for the price we paid can’t be argued with.

“Mediocre”

Had a great time due to company and loved breakfast. Room was a little disappointing and the hotel seemed more accommodating to business which makes sense as so close to the city centre. Not expensive but probably wouldn't return.

Positives - Friendly staff Decent breakfast Good evening food Negatives - - £137 for one night with breakfast is extortion. - Room tiny - Struggle to get about - Tea and coffee in the room but one half measure sugar left (the little things) - pre authorised my card for breakfast for some reason (could have just paid when I checked out as I did for evening meal). - coffee machine at breakfast takes forever - stood for 15-20 mins waiting. I stayed before and paid £80 for a double room with breakfast this is a much more reflective price for the hotel itself.
