During our 11 nights trip in Taiwan, we stayed 4 nights in this hotel i.e. the first and last 2 nights respectively. During our first 2 nights’ stay, we were given an upgrade to a superior room while our last 2 nights in Taiwan was in a standard room. Both types of rooms were of a good size with the superior room seemingly slightly bigger than the standard room. Both have bathtubs, however, the standard room does not have a shower area which makes the bathing of my kiddo challenging as we would have to climb in and out of the bathtub. Both room types are highly equipped which even include a printer. Due to the surrounding of the hotel which consist of a park and also low rise buildings, the view from the room is unparalleled and excellent. Cleanliness is tip top where even the floor underneath the bed was dust free. There was also complimentary fruits topped up every day and the staff were friendly to the guests. While you may have the impression that the location is very rural due to the park, this is not true as there are various shopping malls and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. During weekends, there are also events held in the park and you could also find aspiring singers performing in the evening during a weekend. Will surely come back to this hotel when I re-visit Taichung.

the landis hotel is a modern hotel across a park in downtown Taichung. the lobby is modern, but not impressive. rooms are not very big but certainly enough space with a small desk and all modern equipment. bathroom with shower and bath modern and well equipped. bed a little hard for my liking . hotel is quiet, clean. breakfast buffet complete and good quality. but the best thing of all is the friendly and professional staff of the hotel ! after a dispute with a crook taxi driver they even settled the affair; great service ! highly recommended hotel.

The Landis is independent and offers a charming old school ambience... including having actual keys to the rooms. The Landis is independent and offers a charming old school ambience... including having actual keys to the rooms. It was a pleasant place to stay in the heart of Taichung and the service and food were both very good. The rooms are a little dated but felt in keeping with the “colonial” experience. Good mall just down the road and a lot of interesting local restaurants also.

“Does not meet the standard of a 5 star hotel”

The hotel looks beautiful from the outside but our room was tiny and run down. We stayed on the 43rd floor with a sweeping view of the city but the bathroom needed some serious repair. The tiles on the tub and shower were falling apart. Also, this hotel has no gym, no pool, absolutely no amenities.… Più
