Because of its central location the clock tower chimes from 7am to 10pm. You do get used to it. On street parking or car park 2 mins walk away. Plenty options for lunch and dinner in the main square 2 mins away.

Booked this hotel after visiting crufts, and have to say it exceeded expectations. On arrival we went to the ( busy and buzzy) pub/ bar area to get keys, and had a drink as the really friendly helpful staff checked our booking and told us about breakfast the next morning . We had 2 rooms, a small and normal double and both were large, with high ceilings, big beds, quality linens and facilities and large modern bathrooms with baths and showers. Very pleasantly surprised. Had a great nights sleep and breakfast was amazing , cereals, toast jams and cooked breakfast all included in our rate. Very good value asit would be a £20 pp breakfast all day long anywhere else. Good quality and fresh and fair play to the staff that were on, so helpful and good and manageress took great pride in the place, as did the staff, you could see that

I recently stayed at The Old Coffee Tavern and had a very pleasant experience overall. The room and bathroom were spotless, which I really appreciated. However, there were a couple of small inconveniences—the pillows were like laying your head on a sandbag, there was no TV remote in the room that we could find, and the shower had a bit of a leak. On the bright side, the breakfast was absolutely lovely, with delicious options to start the day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The location is beautiful, making it a great spot for a relaxing stay. One minor downside was the massive clock tower right outside the window that chimed every 15 minutes. That said, I would still recommend The Old Coffee Tavern for its cleanliness, great service, and charming setting.

Travelling for work and arrived around 9pm. I had already told the property I would be late but I got a phone call asking where I was. On arrival I realised it’s because they wanted to shut the pub. I was allocated room 4 on the first floor. Despite having two bags to carry I was offered no help (this would have been nice). I tripped on the way up the stairs. The room itself is fine. I have seen other reviews which said it’s tiny. It’s fine for 1. Bedding and towels were clean. I think the poorest part of the experience was breakfast. Advertised as including meat and cheese. None to be seen. The selection was cornflakes, granola, some croissants and toast you make yourself. Not hot food on offer. Poorest breakfast selection I have seen for a while. The lady who served me tea was very nice and asked how my room was. Not a terrible experience but could be so much better.
