My husband and I stayed at the Ibis between 24/12 - 27/12. We booked through Booking.com. Please be aware when booking through through channels such as these as we booked half board only to realise when we arrived that the restaurant was closed and only the 24hr menu was available (pizza, chips, toasties). The efficiency and swiftness of staff (Connor i believe with fair hair) actually saved our break. I can't emphasise enough how helpful he was. Obviously he couldn't get the restaurant opened just for us but he was proactive and did everything in his power to make sure we left the reception desk happy and smiling. The hotel is lovely. Very modern and new. We had a room with a kitchenette and it was very clean and spacious. There is a restaurant/bar (The Cornerhouse) nearby where you can book. We couldn't get a booking for Christmas day but we managed to get one for Boxing day and the food was good. All in all we enjoyed a few days at the Ibis, what almost started bad ended really good, mainly thanks to an amazing member of staff. We would definitely visit the Ibis again and we plan to do so.

“Great Hotel room had kitchen”

Hotel was great a fairly new build , it had a lovely kitchen area with full fridge and microwave , perfect . It was within walking distance to Morrisons and some restaurants. Can’t comment on breakfast as we made use of our kitchen. Only downside was £5.00 to park . Would stay again.

The room was spacious the bed very comfortable. The shower was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking.

This Ibis Styles in Burton is brand new, is as expected, clean and fresh. The room is what you imagine a basic, budget hotel to be. The bed is comfortable, the shower is decent, there is tea/coffee. For a night or two, it's a lot better than many of the equivalents, including the attached Holiday Inn Express (different hotel chain, same franchise owner. Having competitor brands effectively in the same building is odd. The internet connection and wifi works very well. The guy checking in my was efficient enough, if a little grumpy. But it's midnight in budget hotel in the middle of winter, so I can accept he was not full of the joys of spring. Two gripes. Firstly, the duvet is very thin, and there is no ability to control the heating in the room. The temperature control is locked. I stayed in a very cold spell in January, with snow on the ground and freezing temperatures. Not being able to control the temperature is very poor. I was hoping to track down an additional blanket or another duvet, but all I found were two more pillows. I am sure I could have called reception or gone down there, but at 3am, I didn't really fancy it. The second grip is that there is a £5 charge to park in the car park. Bear in mind, this hotel is in the middle of an industrial/commercial estate in Burton on Trent. The pub next door has a large car park - in fact, there is free parking all around. I didn't realise that parking was not free, like every other budget hotel I have been to, until I was asked for my card for the parking fee. I think that charging to park here, givem the context, is entirely inappropriate. The Holiday Inn Express next door has also introduced this 'policy, which is not a surprise given it's the same car park and owned by the same franchisee.
