The hotel is a bit far away from the Shizuoka Station. It take 15-20 minutes from the station to the hotel on foot. However, it is still convenient. There are restaurants, cafes, convenient stores and department store nearby. The staff can communicate in simple English. I heard that rooms of Japan hotel is small. So far, I am satisfied with the room size, maybe because this is an one-man trip. I only feel that the desk is too small with a TV on it. The room and the facilities are clean. The bed is comfortable too. Some environmentally friendly measures to recognize are the washable slippers and the guest can decide if they would like to change the new blankets everyday. One suggestion is that it would be better if I can watch the international TV channel.

Most seem to speak English and they were very helpful when asked about local eateries ( even going so far as to print off maps from the web). Rooms are typical for a Japanese hotel, that's to say quite small. Though they are clean I did notice some areas that could have done with a dusting ( bathroom air vent for example). Not a problem but attention to detail can make the difference. I went at the height of summer but the room's A/C worked a charm. Another reviewer mentioned few food options in the immediate area. Rest assured, being one center of the shopping district, there are plenty of restaurants of all descriptions within a few minutes walk. Local, Asian and western cuisine is available not to mention coffee shops and bakeries a plenty!

Second time staying at this hotel, it is rated three stars so don’t expect to much. It is about a 10min walk from Shizuoka station, and several drinking and food establishments in the surrounding area. Room is your standard small Japanese style, everything was pretty dated in the room. But it was pretty cheap about ¥10,000 a night, room was clean and didn’t have any issues with anything.

I spent 3 nights at this hotel (but I stayed there other times in the past years). The position of this hotel is good, central and located at 11 minutes (googlemaps says) from the train station. Many shops and restaurant around, ideal. Brekfast is ok, possibility to choose between Japanese style and Western style breakfast. Rooms are typical japanese size, that is not big (but absolutely standard for Japan). Probably the structure needs a global update. Staff very kind and supportive.

“Nice location ”

Nice location. Negatives were there was no comforter, it was the material of a sleeping bag (nylon). The way the shower was set up the water resulted in he floor. The television was very small. That Bein said, location was great and the staff was friendly. Room was bigger than APA rooms.
