The rooms at the hotel is not big, if you book at room with a double bed, the bed is quite small. The pillows in the room are too soft and flat. You need to go early to the souvenir shop at level 1 to choose a better pillow otherwise most of it will be gone by the evening and you will ended up sleeping with a almost totally flat pillow with hardly any filling. The onsen at the hotel is very good. Has lots of different pools to choose from including some outdoor pools with fantastic view to Mount Hakodate. However, the best the hotel got to offer is its breakfast buffet which even comes with champagne and bubblies. The food spread is fantastic and you will be spoilt with choices to choose from. The seafood sashimi spread and the fruits spread is awesome. They even offer rock melon in the fruit spread. For anyone that has visited Japan before will know how expensive is the rock melon which is sold like gold in the supermarket. So by offering rock melon in their fruit spread is just worth all the price you paid for the stay there. Parking at the hotel is also very affordable at Y1000 per day with unlimited entry and exit and they have plenty of parking space at their over flow parking area across the street. The location of the hotel is also great. It is just a short walk to the morning seafood market and also a 10 min walk to the famous Hakodate red brick warehouse Kannemori. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I would return to Hakodate

The first stop of out Hokkaido trip is Hakodate where we stayed at the Century Marina Hakodate Hotel. The hotel is very new and located nearby the JR Station and the ‘morning market’ where you can enjoy seafood every morning fresh from the fishman boats. 20mins walk to the cable car station where you can take a short ride to the hill top and enjoy the magnificent sunset and the famous night view of Hakodate. The hotel lobby is a touch of art and simplicity but giving people a very warm and welcoming feeling. We checked in on 14Jun24 and were assigned with room 502, a twin bed room which we requested. Room was clean and with all necessity in place. A very nice set of casual suit is prepared for guests to wear inside the room or taking a hot spa on the roof top of the building. If you have problem with the pillow inside your room, there is a pillow library on 2nd floor where you can choose the right one to ensure you will have a good sleep. Highlight of the hotel is their breakfast. The variety is so many that you may need to stay there for at least 3 days if you want to try them all. This is a hotel that I will highly recommended .
