We only stayed one night as we passed through Furano on a self drive tour but would happily stay longer in Waki AiAi. We stayed in he main cottage I believe which was fantastic - huge, spotlessly clean, great facilities, warm and cozy. It is a few km outside of the town so you need your own transport but staying out in the country is beautiful. All around are open fields which were snow covered when we were there with huge views across the valley to the hills. I imaging in the summer when the flowers are out it would be very pretty but we loved the stunning winter landscape. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we had a nice Japanese style breakfast in his restaurant area in the main house. I think in summer months this would also be open to people passing by Definitely recommend

“Perfect little home base”

We stayed at the cottage while skiing in Furano area. It’s beautiful and cozy! Very new, clean and comfortable with a great view! A little (7 mins) outside Furano which was kind of nice! Looking forward to stay longer next time.

My family (2 adults and 2 young kids) stayed in the Cottage Wakiaiai for two nights in late July. The Cottage Wakiaiai situated on a plain near Furano and surrounded by fields. As an urban inhabitant, I was impressed by it openness. There are two cottages and we take the smaller (side cottage) one. The owner’s house locates next to them. The cottage was a new building and looked better than its snapshots on the website. As other reviewers had commented, the cottage was absolutely clean, nicely decorated, and well-equipped. The owner provided detailed information about some shops, restaurants, and supermarkets in Furano. He also prepared delicious cheese cakes for us. The cottage was absolutely quiet at night. It was noticed that, probably due to the lights, the cottage could attract insects and little frogs (that amused my children!) during nighttime. The windows’ insect nettings had excluded them fortunately. There was a little sunflower field outside the side cottage. In the second evening of our stay, while my children were watching sunflowers at the terrace, a friendly local farmer gave them some sweet potatoes and onions just harvested from her field! I made a few simple dishes out of these fresh local produces and they were really yummy! The Cottage Wakiaiai is definitely recommended to family or group travelers who drive and desire a perfect getaway experience in the countryside of Furano. However the cottage is not a remote place. It takes less than 10 minutes to drive to the Furano centre. All major flower fields are within 10-15-minute driving distances. We were glad that we had not stayed in a hotel setting when visiting Furano in summer time. By living in a cottage, we could enjoy the natural beauty of Furano authentically.

There are 3 rooms, one at first level and the other two at the rooftop/ second floor. There is only one bathroom and shower area. There is no door and only door curtains for all room.
